Allan William Trekking Agency does comply with guidelines of Mount Kilimanjaro Guides Association regarding welfare of guides, porters and cooks.

All guides, cooks & porters use have high experience and have worked with us for many years. Each is very professional and has all the necessary gears for the climb. It is also mandatory for whoever working on the mountain to have all the necessary gears for the climb.

Means of obtaining mountain gears are many and to mention few, it is through foreign donors, clients providing to our staff willingly at the end of trips. Buying from the second hand marketing selling used gears.

The Communication between guides and office/Rescue Center during the climb is through cell phones, walk talk and VHF Radio calls that are available at each Ranger station. Most campsites have Ranger station with VHF Radio calls.

Guides are highly trained through NOLS – National Outdoor Leadership School based at Lander – Wyoming USA. Their level of training is basic navigation skills, basic first aid skills, and the Wilderness first Responder and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation which is an advanced course, Mammology, botany, ornithology and client care and Relations these are courses that have been attended by our naturalist born for Adventure guys from A.W.T.A.

Our guide carries the ordinary first aid kits while some carries Adventure Medical kits.
Our first aid kits have – foot kit – with moleskin, mole foam, second skins, tweezers, triceps, syringes, ant bacterial creams, bandages, iodine, medicines including all kinds of pain killers e.g. Advil, Tylenol, Ibuprofen etc. We also carries other medicines for Acute mountain sickness, High altitude Pulmonary Edema and High Altitude cerebral Edema preventions e.g. Diamox, ant nausea, ant diarrhea etc. Oxygen tanks with 02 and the Gamow bag or the Portable altitude chamber are equipments we carry and use for our groups on the mountain, but these are on request and clients have to pay a little bit more for this equipments.

For camping we use the highest quality tents. The mess tents we use are tough canvas tents that resist better the harsh high altitude environments. For Porters, guides and cooks we use pyramid tents made of tough canvas that works like our mess tent.
